Digital Platform for Empowerment of the Fish Supply Chain
FishEUTrust project is a Horizon Europe project implemented within HORIZON-CL6-2021-FARM2FORK-01 and it stands for European integration of new technologies and social-economic solutions for increasing consumer trust and engagement in seafood products. FishEUTrust aims to defragment the current seafood system to ensure sustainability and a transparent and traceable seafood supply chain. Fish farming is widespread in Europe, but most research has concentrated on technical aspects of production whilst traceability and microbiological safety methods are limited, and must improve to increase consumer confidence and uptake. At the heart of FishEUTrust is integration of stakeholders through a digital platform and co-creation living labs (Mediterranean, North Sea, Atlantic Ocean), which will enable user communities to explore digital and non-digital supply chain solutions, quality, safety, traceability, and environmental impact.
DigitalSmart will provide support in the work packages and activities related to implementation of the digital platform and integration of various digital services along the supply chain. We will work closely with our partner on the requirements elicitation, system specifications and implementation and integration of system components. The primary role of DigitalSmart is to lead the task on “Design the FishEUTrust platform to support integration of relevant technologies, digital solutions for supporting consumer empowerment and data and information sharing”.
As a part of the solution, DigitalSmart implementing an IoT based digital fishfarm platform that will demonstrate the use of IoT sensors and platforms, as well as integration with other digital solutions across the fish value chain. The platform will be integrated with a solution for monitoring location and conditions of transportation vehicles. The interaction with the platform can be initiated by scanning a smart label with QR code that will allow unique identification of package, its history and conditions throughout the value chain.
