Solar powered portable solution for precision agriculture for rural areas
This is a Proof of Concept (PoC) project that is funded by a PoC grant from the Innovation Fund of Montenegro. The mobile solar power plant is equipped with a precision agriculture equipment for a typical application in rural areas in Montenegro.
The setup is fully configurable, from the number of solar panels and presence of batteries to the features like weather station, local wireless network, wireless sensors (soil, water, video) and edge processing capabilities (process collected information on site). End users will have a remote access the software platform from their computers or mobile devices.
The project was presented at the 28th IEEE IT2024 Conference in the section dedicated to project results presentations. More information and conference program can be accessed at the conference website.
Our primary target is the agricultural sector in Montenegro and the region, specifically farmers, livestock breeders, private and corporate farms and/or cooperatives. After finishing with system PoC our specific focus will be on those who use or plan to use irrigation systems for arable crops, orchards, vineyards, field vegetables and cattle monitoring.
